"Bye mom! I'll be over at Rachel's house!" Nicole Green called out as she shouldered her backpack and opened the front door.
"What time will you be back?" Nicole's mother called back.
"Don't know. Probably not until supper." Nicole answered.

The warm summer day had hit one o'clock for the suburban home. Flipping on the air conditioning, Jenny flopped on the couch as she waited for her friend Cassandra to arrive.
